Another Day in The Garden

We are turning our yard into a food garden one step at a time.  With little time and less money, the Engineer and I are growing our groceries.  On Friday I have a bunch of strong boys coming to help us move the 9 yards of dirt that we have sitting in our driveway.  That means that we need to have everything ready for them to put dirt on.  We are going to be trying out "lasagne gardening" in our backyard.  I read a great article about it and decided that it might be an easy way for us to turn more space into garden.

Tonight we laid down cardboard along the side of our house as the first layer in our lasagne.  I wet it down real well and will start piling things on top tomorrow.  This is the south side of our house and where we are planning to put raspberries.  First we have to conquer years of neglect.  Will lasagne layering work?  I hope so.  Another thing to learn.

My First Post

I've been thinking about starting a blog for some time, I think I have something to say.  I am calling my blog "Live and Learn" because I have lived over half of my life and I still learn something new everyday. 

I am passionate about many things...Gardening, family, learning, exercising, cooking, scriptures study.  This is where I will share what I am learning about those things.  Learn with me...
